Northernmost Istrian resort — about 1h 45min from Ljubljana by car
There are many Indians, few Chiefs – true Legends are rare.
And one drives the world — wherever you wish. 🚖
Umag is the northernmost resort town on the Croatian Istrian coast, just 155 km from Ljubljana — making it one of the closer Croatian destinations from Slovenia. It's a popular seaside town known for its tennis tournament (Croatia Open), long beaches, and quieter atmosphere compared to Poreč or Rovinj further south.
GoOpti connects Ljubljana to northern Istria including Umag. Prices are lower than a private transfer but journey times are longer due to shared pick-ups. Good for solo travellers or couples who don't mind some flexibility on timing.
We pick you up at your Ljubljana address and drive you directly to your hotel or apartment in Umag. Fixed price, no stops. Because Umag is relatively close (155 km), a private transfer is the most time-efficient option — and for 3–4 people, the cost per head is competitive.
Umag has a small medieval old town on a peninsula, surrounded by modern hotels and resorts. The Croatia Open ATP tennis tournament takes place here every July and draws significant crowds — book well ahead if you're visiting during the tournament.
Umag is about 40 km south of Piran along the coast. If you're spending time on the Slovenian coast and also want to visit Istria, Umag is a natural next stop.
Yes — Poreč is 30 km south of Umag, Rovinj another 35 km further. We can include multi-town stops. Just ask when booking and we'll quote for the full itinerary.
