Via Trieste

Train Venice → Trieste (~2h), then connecting service to Ljubljana (~1h 30 min). Total ~4h. Airport to Venice Santa Lucia by ATVO bus + vaporetto, or to Mestre directly. Book at trenitalia.com.

Drive yourself

Car rental at VCE. A4 east to Trieste, then SS14 to the Slovenian border (Fernetti/Sežana), then A1 to Ljubljana. ~250 km, ~2h 30 min. Or turn right at the border for Piran (~1h 45 min).
