Postojna Cave is Slovenia's most visited attraction and one of the largest cave systems in the world — 24 km of passages, vast chambers filled with stalactites and stalagmites, and the famous electric train that carries visitors deep underground. Right next to the cave is Predjama Castle, a medieval fortress built into the mouth of a cliff cave that looks like something from a fairy tale.
From Ljubljana Airport, Postojna is just 45 minutes south by private car — making it the perfect first stop on arrival, or a final sight before flying home.
