From Ljubljana Airport (Brnik — officially Jože Pučnik Airport, operated by Fraport Slovenia) to Opatija is approximately 130 km. Journey time is around 1.5 to 2 hours. The route heads southeast on the Slovenian motorway, through the Učka tunnel under the mountains, and emerges above the Kvarner Bay — Opatija is right there below.
Croatia has been in the Schengen Area since January 2023, so there is no passport check at the border for EU and Schengen travellers.
