From Ljubljana Airport to Opatija is approximately 130 km. Journey time is around 1.5 to 2 hours. The route heads southeast on the Slovenian motorway, through the Učka tunnel under the mountains, and emerges above the Kvarner Bay — Opatija is right there below.
Croatia has been in the Schengen Area since January 2023, so there is no passport check at the border for EU and Schengen travellers.
The towns along the Lungomare (Volosko, Opatija, Ičići, Lovran) are all within a few kilometres of each other. The transfer price is the same for all of them — €150 car / €210 van. Tell us your hotel when booking.
Rijeka is the large port city 12 km northeast of Opatija. Both are the same transfer price. If you're flying into Croatia or taking a ferry, Opatija is the resort; Rijeka is the transport hub. We can drop off at either or both.
