It is operated by Fraport Slovenia, a subsidiary of the German airport operator Fraport AG.

It is a compact and easy-to-navigate terminal — from landing to exit with luggage usually takes no more than 20–30 minutes. Once you clear passport control, collect your luggage and step outside, you will find several transport options waiting for you.

The Kamnik Alps sit to the east, the Karawanken range marks the Austrian border to the north. This is not a backdrop — this is the actual landscape.

Most visitors arrive here expecting Switzerland prices and leave surprised by what €75 buys at Lake Bled. We have been picking people up from these arrivals doors for over 15 years, and we still enjoy the moment when someone steps outside for the first time and realises that yes — it really does look like that.

Step by Step: What Happens When You Land at Brnik

Ljubljana Airport is small and straightforward — most passengers find it refreshingly uncomplicated after larger European hubs. Here is what to expect from the moment your plane touches down:

1. Landing & taxi to gate — Usually 5–10 minutes from touchdown to the terminal door.
2. Passport / border control — Slovenia is in the Schengen Area. EU/EEA passengers pass quickly (1–5 min). Non-Schengen arrivals (e.g. UK, USA) go through passport control — allow 10–20 minutes depending on the queue.
3. Baggage claim — One baggage carousel, very compact. Bags usually appear within 10–15 minutes of landing.
4. Customs — Standard EU green/red channel. Most passengers walk straight through.
5. Exit & meeting point — Step through the glass doors and you are in the arrivals hall. Taxi drivers and transfer companies wait here with name signs. There is a small café on the left.
6. With Taxi Legende — We send you the car registration and driver details by WhatsApp/SMS as soon as you land. Step outside, we are there in 2 minutes. No hunting, no confusion. Note: we do not stand at Brnik waiting for walk-in passengers — we exclusively serve pre-booked transfers.

🏛️ The Old Terminal — Charter Flights (Palma, Relax, Sonček)

Ljubljana Airport has two terminal buildings. The main (new) terminal handles all regular scheduled flights. The old terminal — a separate building on the opposite side of the apron — is used exclusively for charter flights organised by Slovenian tourist agencies.

If your flight was booked through Palma, Relax, or Sonček (the three main Slovenian charter operators), you will be departing or arriving at the old terminal, not the main one. The check-in and departure process is managed entirely by the tour operator, not Fraport.

📍 Old terminal location: Follow the signs from the main airport road — it is a separate entrance, about 300m from the main terminal. Your tour operator's documentation will specify which terminal to use. When in doubt, call your agency before travelling to the airport.

🚗 Transfer to the old terminal: We drop off and pick up at both terminals — just let us know at booking which one you need. Same fixed price, same service.
