Ljubljana Airport (Brnik) — officially Jože Pučnik Airport, operated by Fraport Slovenia — is about 85 km from Bohinj. The drive takes approximately 1 hour to 1 hour 15 minutes, depending on your exact drop-off point in the valley.

About 26 km by road, roughly 30–35 minutes. The road follows the Sava Bohinjka river through the Bohinj gorge — scenic and easy to drive.
We drop off at the Vogel cable car station at Ukanc — the starting point for Vogel ski resort. In winter this is one of our most common Bohinj drop-offs. Same pricing as any other Bohinj destination.
Yes — we can drop off at the parking area near the Savica waterfall trailhead (Slap Savica), near Ukanc at the western end of the lake.
There is no direct airport shuttle to Bohinj. GoOpti offers shared transfers but routes to Bohinj are rare and require combining with other passengers. A private transfer is the most reliable direct option from the airport to any address in the Bohinj valley.
Options: private transfer from €90 (direct, 1h 15 min), public bus via Bohinjska Bistrica (~2h 30 min, one change in Ljubljana), or scenic mountain train to Bohinjska Bistrica (~2h, one change). Private transfer is the only option that gets you directly to your accommodation door.
Lake Bohinj in winter is a different world — snow-covered valley, frozen lake edges, and Vogel ski resort accessible by cable car from Ukanc. We transfer skiers and snowboarders directly to the cable car station throughout the ski season.
Winter transfers from Ljubljana Airport to Bohinj follow the same route and pricing. Road conditions in the valley are generally good — the main Bohinj valley road is maintained year-round. Note: the road to Ukanc can be icy in heavy snow — we have winter tyres and drive it regularly.
Many visitors combine Bled and Bohinj in one trip — they are 26 km apart and the drive is one of the most scenic in Slovenia, through the Bohinj gorge along the Sava Bohinjka river. We offer direct transfers between the two destinations. Contact us for current pricing based on your exact addresses.
